Betis moved up to eighth
spot after coming from behind to beat Sporting Gijón 1-2. The Asturians
started well, Bilic heading over before Diego Castro put them ahead, turning
the ball in to an empty net after Casto spilled a shot from Barral midway
through the first half. That opened the game up, with Cuéllar making
good saves from Sergio García and Arzu, and the locals replying with
Bilic testing Casto and Castro shooting over.
Sergio García fired a
long shot just wide of the far post soon after the restart, and a couple of
minutes later Monzón crashed a spectacular shot past Cuéllar
following a short free kick to equalise. And six minutes later Emaná
drilled home what was to prove the winner after Capi set him up. Bilic did his
best after that to change things going close after a corner and having a
penalty claim turned down, and then poking a low effort against the post. But
Betis had their third win in a row, and their poor start to the season is now
behind them. |
