Atlético Madrid moved
back up to second in the table after beating Recreativo 4-0, the third such
scoreline in a row in the Calderón stadium. An unmarked Kun Agüero
headed them in to the lead from Simao's free kick in the eighth minute, and the
striker had a second goal disallowed soon afterwards as Sinama-Pongolle had
come back on to the pitch in an offside position. Riesgo kept out another
effort from Maniche, but Coupet had some work to do as well, particularly
stopping a couple of shots from an active Adrián Colunga.
Coupet was in action again
after the restart to turn Javi Fuego's shot for a corner, and Sinama saw a
deflected cross bounce off the crossbar at the other end. A couple of minutes
later though the locals went two up, Maniche crashing a shot back through a
crowded goalmouth after Simao's corner was cleared to him on the edge of the
area.
Recre were beaten, and their
ex striker Sinama wrapped things up with two more later on, the first after
picking up a pass from Miguel and making space to beat the keeper, and the
second after Luis García's flicked pass allowed him to run on past Arzo
and score. Another high scoring match, and Atlético look to be on their
best form for years. |
