Espanyol are quickly dropping out of the race for the European spots, and they are now six points adrift after losing 0-1 to Osasuna, their fourth defeat in a row. Plasil hit the bar with a long free kick before Astudillo got the only goal of the game, Kameni only able to fist another free kick from Puñal into his path on the half hour mark.

The locals didn't get near Ricardo's goal until Valdo headed wide shortly before the break, and Juanfran could have extended the lead when he got past the keeper only to turn his shot on to the bar soon after the restart. Tamudo had an effort headed off the line by Monreal with the keeper late on, but the visitors held on for three points which takes them six clear of the drop zone.
