Deportivo beat Betis 0-1 in the last game on Saturday evening to move out of the relegation spots pending Sunday's games. Once again Lotina lined up with five at the back, repeating the formation which won against Valladolid last week. And it was their central defenders who made the difference, Pablo Amo turning in Coloccini's cross ten minutes before the break to score what was to be the only goal of the game.

Depor had decided to readmit both first choice keepers into the squad after their altercation a few days ago, but with Aouate injured and Munúa short of match practise Lotina decided to carry on with Fabricio in goal. The young keeper made a couple of saves before the break, but he was caught out when Edu headed past him onto the bar from left of goal, Juan Rodríguez clearing off the line from Pavone on the follow up.

Otherwise though the Gailcians were on top, with Ricardo saving from Bodipo and Filipe, and referee Ontanaya López turning down a possible penalty for hands by Melli. Soon afterwards though he did award a penalty after Juanito pulled over Lopo, but Ricardo guessed correctly and saved Juan Rodríguez's spot kick. Betis though couldn't respond, and Bodipo could have increased the lead when he headed onto the bar late on. Depor had done enough for their second win in a row though, and they are now only two points behind their opponents in the table.
