Valladolid moved up five places to twelfth after beating Getafe 0-3. The visitors were in control right from the start, with Víctor shooting just wide of the mark a couple of times early, the first after Pato Abbondanzieri dropped the ball at his feet. Pato's opposite number Sergio Asenjo (who is just over half his age) was also called upon late in the first half to stop a header from Manu, and then get a hand to the ball as Pablo Hernández tried to dribble round him.

All the goals though came after the interval, with Vivar Dorado getting his revenge for his unceremonial dismissal from Getafe last season with two, the first after Pato could only push out Capdevila's free kick into his path and the second after a run through from midfield. In between Alvaro Rubio rifled home his side's second after Llorente set him up, and Sisi could have got a fourth when he shot well wide with the goal at his mercy late on.

It was not all one way traffic however, Asenjo keeping out Manu, Granero and Gavilán, and García Calvo almost scored in his own net when he headed a cross against his own post. But Michael Laudrop's side were well beaten, and they ended the weekend below their opponents on goal difference, now only three points above the drop zone.
