post. 2-1. 55. Valdo. Cut across edge of area and drilled low shot wide of
César. 2-2. 90. Sergio García. Got on end of Zapater free
kick to head over Ricardo.
A last minute headed goal
from Sergio García gave Zaragoza a 2-2 draw at Osasuna, not quite enough
though to take the Mañés back to fourth place after losing out to
Valencia the day before.
The home side had not won in
their Reyno de Navarra stadium since the halfway stage of the season, but with
UEFA Cup semi-final matches against Sevilla either side of this game, Cuco
Ziganda put out a much changed line-up. Even so they started well, Webó
bringing a good save out of César before Juanlu volleyed them in to the
lead after Sergio could only head back Valdo's cross.
A few minutes later though
Zaragoza equalised after Aimar's free kick took a slight deflection off a
defender to creep inside Ricardo's near post. The keeper pushed out a shot from
Piqué and saved another Aimar free kick, and D'Alessandro shot over the
top a few minutes later. But the best chance of the rest of the first half fell
to Juanlu, who fired another shot just over the crossbar shortly before the
break.
The locals came out again
strongly after the restart, Valdo testing César a couple of times before
beating the keeper with an angled shot from the edge of the area. Juanlu and
Nekounam could have increased the lead, but with the game already in injury
time substitute Sergio García got on the end of Zapater's long free kick
to head the ball back over Ricardo and in to the net. |
