Portillo. Dived forward on far post to head Gil's corner into top of net.
Zaragoza slipped out of the
Champions League spots down to fifth, now three points behind Valencia, after
they lost 1-0 to bottom club Gimnàstic. The Catalans were on top for
much of the game, with Generelo and Pinilla both testing César before
the break. D'Alessandro tried his luck with a couple of efforts either side of
half time, but Portillo should have given the locals the lead when he headed
wide with the goal at his mercy soon after the restart.
Substitute Rubén
Castro provided fresh legs and brought a good save out of César with a
long range shot later in the second half, and with ten minutes to go Portillo
flung himself forward to meet Gil's corner on the far post and score the
winner. Oscar did finally give Bizzarri some work to do late on, but it was a
poor performance by Víctor Fernández's side in the end. The
victory takes Nàstic to within six points of safety. |
