Espanyol closed up on the European spots with a 0-2 win at Osasuna, their fifth victory in a row in all competitions. Both sides came in to the game after tiring UEFA cup games on Thursday, but the visitors took the lead when Corominas fired an angled shot past Ricardo after a good run down the centre by Jonatas.

Osasuna's only real chance in the first half came when Cuéllar headed wide, but Kameni had nothing to do until the hour mark, when he turned a long shot from Juanfran around the post. Jonatas put Tamudo away soon afterwards only for the striker to be closed down by Ricardo and Izquierdo, but two minutes later he got free again, and this time he did find the net after his shot took a slight deflection off Miguel Flaño.

The Catalans had to play the last quarter of an hour with ten men after Jarque was sent off for elbowing Soldado, but they held on to take the three points which leaves them just four away from the European places. Osasuna have not won at home in the league since mid-January though, and they drop further down into the bottom half of the table.
