Osasuna kept up their recent
good form with a 1-4 victory over Villarreal, their sixth win in a row.
Héctor Font returned to his old club and proved to be the star of the
match, setting up Webó to head the opener early on and then finding
Nekounam for him to beat the offside trap and head a second close to the break.
And ten minutes in to the second half another pass from Font put Webó
through, Barbosa having little option but to bring him down and give away a
penalty which David López converted.
Up to that point the locals
had hardly appeared on the scene, but they finally woke up and Diego
Forlán and Cani both missed chances before Cani got on the end of
Riquelme's wide free kick to thump the ball in to the far top corner of the
net. Forlán thought he had scored again only to have the strike ruled
out for a dubious offside, but a few minutes later Juanfran latched on to
Raúl García's cross to squeeze a shot past Barbosa on the near
post and wrap things up. |
