Real Sociedad recorded their first win of the season after beating fellow strugglers Gimnastic 3-2. The match got off to a lively start, and the Catalans took the lead with just over a quarter of an hour gone when Llera headed Cuéllar's free kick past Bravo. The locals tested Rubén Pérez a couple of times later in the first half, but it took a stroke of luck for them to equalise, Mingo putting through his own net trying to clear two minutes after the restart.

It only took a minute though for Nàstic to restore the lead, Rubén Castro picking up a through ball and holding off two defenders to shoot low past the keeper. Jesuli had a penalty appeal turned down at the other end though, and soon afterwards Juanito got on the end of Gerardo's free kick with his back to goal to head wide of Pérez and level the scores once again.

The goal motivated the Basque side, and six minutes later Kovacevic, Xabi Prieto and López Rekarte combined to set up Diego Rivas for what was to be the winner. Real had their first win in eight months, and Nàstic ended the weekend at the bottom of the table.
