Valencia finally got back to
winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Deportivo, their first win in six weeks.
Quique Flores put out an all Spanish line up for the first time, and it paid
off when Angulo fired in Vicente's cross to open the scoring early on. But the
turning point came when David Villa fell under a challenge from Juanma in the
area close to half time, referee Delgado Ferreira awarding a penalty and
showing the defender a much protested second yellow card.
Villa converted the kick
himself, and Caparrós pulled back Coloccini in to defence. Neither side
caused too many problems though until a quarter of an hour from the end, when
Baraja played a long ball over Coloccini for Villa to run on and score his
second. Substitute Adrián almost got one back, but with the game coming
to an end Vicente wrapped things up, beating Aouate at the second attempt after
a first shot was blocked by his own man. |
