Getafe are back in the European spots, level on points with fourth and fifth placed Zaragoza and Valencia, after beating Deportivo La Coruña 2-0. Manu del Moral got the first goal just nine minutes from the kick off after running on to Celestini's pinpoint pass to beat Aouate. Verdú and ex Getafe forward Riki both went close at the other end, but by half time the Galicians were still behind, and Caparrós shuffled his pack around, switching Coloccini to right back and bringing on Juan Rodriguez for Barragán.

Pato Abbondanzieri was only troubled by long free kicks though, and Aouate had to be at his best to keep out Casquero and Del Moral. And midway through the second half Pachón and Casquero combined to set up Nacho for him to score his side's 100th goal in the first division. Celebrations were so great however that Casquero had his nose broken by his team mates! Capdevila could have pulled one back in the dying minutes but he failed to take advantage inside the area. Not a great performance by the Galicians though, and they drop out of the European spots as a result.
