Getafe joined Sevilla, Barcelona and Valencia on six points after a1-0 win over Racing Santander. Paunovic and Güiza both had chances as the home side dominated the first half, the former heading over the bar from good positions a couple of times and the latter shooting just wide. But it wasn't until the hour mark that they took the lead when Güiza picked up a long pass from Nacho to beat Toño with an angled shot. Pareds shot wide and both Güiza and Paunovic had efforts saved by the keeper, but otherwise Bernd Schuster ordered them to shut up shop, and the Cantabrians hardly managed a shot at Pato Abbondanzieri's goal throughout the ninety minutes.
