The match between Mallorca
and Deportivo ended 0-0, the only draw of the weekend. There were pre-match
festivities as the San Moix ground changed it's name to the ONO stadium, but
the game itself was very dull. Neither keeper had anything to do in the first
45 minutes, the only action in the two penalty areas being a shot from Arango
which was smothered by a defender, and an effort at the other end by Juan
Rodríguez, called upon by Caparrós to play as striker. The first
real shot at goal didn't come until well in to the second half, Sergio testing
Prats for the first time, although the introduction of Ibagaza did at least
liven things up. However Maxi López was unable to take advantage of his
best pass, and in the end both sides decided to settle for a point.
