A disappointing end to a disappointing season for both Atlético Madrid and Betis, who cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw. The locals had the better chances early on, with Doblas saving from Petrov and Fernando Torres going close before Kezman opened the scoring, heading in from close to goal after Doblas tipped Petrov's free kick on to the crossbar.

Gabri tried his luck with a long shot and Kezman missed an easy chance before the visitors finally woke up, Dani and Assunçao both sending efforts just wide either side of the break.

Contreras came on for the injured Doblas in the second half and did well to keep out Torres, but with a quarter of an hour to go Arzu levelled the scores just a minute after coming on to replace Dani, picking up a pass from Tardelli to dribble past a couple of defenders and beat Leo Franco.
