Betis and Málaga did themselves no favours with a 1-1 draw which leaves both in the bottom three alongside their neighbours Cádiz. The local fans decided to show their support walking alongside the team coach on it's way to the ground, and for a time the players appeared to have been inspired by the gesture. Visiting keeper Arnau had to be on his toes to keep out Tardelli, and Edu headed wide before Rivas powered a header past the keeper from Joaquín's free kick to put his side ahead.

The midweek trip to Bucharest started to take it's toll though, and chances were few and far between from then on. Only an effort wide from Joaquín soon after the restart gave the supporters anything to shout about, and later in the second half the visitors equalised when Hidalgo reacted quicker than the rest to turn the ball past Arnau after the keeper could only parry his header from Duda's free kick.

Serra Ferrer urged his men forward after that, but when Arnau made a last minute save from Xisco it was all over. Málaga ended the day still at the bottom of the table, and Betis are only two places above them. A bad day for Andalusia.
