Alavés continued
their recovery taking a point away from Getafe in a 2-2 draw, although they
felt they should have had more after leading the game right up to the last
minute. Pernía had put the locals ahead from the penalty spot in only
the third minute after Pellegrini had fouled Güiza, but Aloisi equalised
soon afterwards with a header past Calatayud from Edu Alonso's cross. Costanzo
kept out Güiza a few minutes later, but the visitors came closer after
that, albeit without causing too many problems for the local keeper.
Juan Carlos Oliva ordered
his side back after the restart, looking to catch their opponents out on the
counter attack, and they got the goal they were looking for when Bodipo ran on
to Astudillo's pass to score with a quarter of an hour remaining. Schuster
threw on two extra forwards almost immediately, and Güiza should have
equalised after Riki set him up for a header near the end. But with the game
already in injury time, the striker made up for his mistake with his side's
second goal after Riki headed on Gavilán's cross. Getafe had saved a
point, and their opponents stay in the bottom three as a result.
