Osasuna kept up with leaders
Barcelona at the top of the table after beating local rivals Alavés 3-2.
The Pamplona based side had won all of their games this season in their Sadar
stadium, and they dominated the first half. However they were unable to break
through a well ordered defence, and the visitors came closest to scoring when
Rubén Navarro brought a good save out of Ricardo from a free kick.
Javier Aguirre brought on
Valdo for Romeo at the interval and they created more chances in ten minutes
than they had in all the first half, with Milosevic heading wide and Costanzo
saving from David López. But soon afterwards Nené put Chuchi
Cos's side ahead after Ricardo could only push out a header from Rubén
Navarro.
The lead only lasted three
minutes though before Milosevic equalised, finishing off on the far post after
Raúl García headed on a corner. And after Ricardo kept out an
effort from Jandro at the other end, Puñal put the hosts ahead from the
penalty spot after Poli felled Milosevic.
Alavés were forced to
throw everything forward, but they were caught out when Moha ran on to a long
clearance from Javier Flaño to score a third. Ex Osasuna striker John
Aloisi headed one back a few minutes later, but it was too late, and the home
side carried on their amazing start to the season. Europe beckons.
