Zaragoza and Racing Santander both ended the midweek round of matches just a point above the relegation zone after sharing the points in a 1-1 draw. Víctor Muñoz's side had in fact draw five of their games already this season, but they started well, and only some first class saves by Dudu Aouate kept the scores level for the first half hour. The Israeli keeper stopped efforts from Oscar González and Diego Milito early on, and turned away a dangerous free kick from Ponzio later in the first half.

The locals appeared to be running out of steam as half time approached, but then Savio found Diego Milito for him to steer the ball wide of the keeper off the back of his head. Preciado turned to Aganzo though as the game wore on, and the striker put César to the test almost immediately. And soon afterwards a mistake by Gabi Milito let him in to shoot low past the keeper and square the match. It was another point for the battling Cantabrians who, although they have not won now in five games, are managing to keep their heads above water.
