Zaragoza recorded their
seventh draw in ten games after a 1-1 scoreline against Málaga. Ewerthon
put Víctor Muñoz's side into the lead in the tenth minute, the
referee waving away claims for a foul by Cani on Valcarce in the play leading
up to the goal. But the visitors were creating problems with high balls into
the area, and Salva hit the post on the half hour mark. Savio almost took
advantage of a mistake by Fernando Sanz to increase the lead at the other end,
but five minutes before the interval Edgar fired a spectacular long shot over
César to square the match.
Local coach Víctor
Muñoz was not happy, and replaced his two anchormen at half time. And
his side showed a marked improvement after the restart, with Arnau saving the
day for the Andalusians with a couple of first class stops and Diego Milito
just failing to reach Ponzio's dangerous cross. Víctor lost his best
attacker Ewerthon to an injury, but Savio brouht a point blank save out of the
keeper and Cani headed another chance wide. The last opportunities fell to the
visitors though, and Salva and Hidalgo both gave the home fans a fright before
the final whistle. |
