Celta lost 2-0 to an Osasuna
side who climb above them in the table and who replace them in second place,
level on points with Madrid. The Galicians were missing Antonio Nuñez,
who pulled out with back problems shortly before kick off, and lost their star
striker Baiano to an injury in the fifth minute. And they were unable to make
any headway against a well organised defence in a dull first half, even though
they did have the better chances, including a shot from the half way line from
Angel which just cleared the crossbar.
Milosevic gave the locals
the lead three minutes after the restart after picking up a David López
pass, but López almost headed into his own net soon afterwards trying to
clear a corner, Ricardo sticking out a foot to clear the ball off the line and
Contreras shooting wide on the follow up. The locals were getting the better of
their opponents though, and Pinto did well to tip away a curling shot from
Webó. But the keeper couldn't stop the Camerooni striker from connecting
with a David López pass and touching the ball round him to shoot into an
empty net a few minutes later. Osasuna had their fourth home win in a row, and
with their B team and youth side also topping their respective tables, Pamplona
was the place to be this weekend. |
