2-1. 74. Barkero. Struck low free kick through wall and into bottom of net.

A Real Sociedad side missing their twin strike force of Nihat and Kovacevic moved safely up to mid-table after a 2-1 win over Zaragoza. With the Turkish forward out for the rest of the season and the Serbian striker suspended, De Paula accompanied Uranga up front. And De Paula could have given his side the lead a couple of times early on if it was not for Luis García in the opposite goal.

David Villa though brought a good save out of Riesgo before the visitors went in front on the half hour mark when Zapater ran on to Savio's cross to head past Riesgo. But Karpin equalised from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time when referee Ramírez Domínguez ruled rather harshly that Milito had handled deliberately in the area after a López Rekarte cross hit him at point blank range.

Víctor Muñoz's side were left with ten men after the restart when Zapater was shown a second yellow card, and Luis García had to be at his best to keep out De Paula soon afterwards. But he could do nothing a few minutes later when subsitute Barkero fired a long free kick through the defensive wall and in to the bottom corner of the net. Even so Zaragoza came close to saving a point when Villa struck the post in the dying minutes.
