Bottom club Numancia finally got their first away win of the season, coming from a goal down to beat Albacete 1-2. The result was the last straw for the local management, who fired manager José González after the match, replacing him with caretaker Martín Monteagudo.

With the prospect of relegation facing both sides, neither was prepared to risk anything early on. It was some time before the first chance fell to the visitors, Miguel failing to beat Valbuena after Tevenet set him up in front of goal. And soon afterwards the hosts took the lead, Mark González running on from midfield to fire a shot past Juanma.

Four minutes after the restart though Numancia were level, Carlos Merino converting a twice taken penalty after Santi (who was playing his first game since returning to the side of his youth) pushed over Miguel in the area. A quarter of an hour later Albacete were left with ten men after Jaime earned himself a red card for insulting an official, and José pulled his men back to defend the point.

After that the Soría based side pushed forward looking for the elusive victory, Valbuena doing well to keep out Miguel and Juanlu. But with three minutes to go, Juanlu found Miguel with a cross in front of goal for the striker to fire home the winner and give his side a first win in eleven games. And it could have been a bigger victory if Merino had not hit the post two minutes later. The crowd chanted "José, vete ya", and not long afterwards they got their wish.
