Sevilla took advantage of
Espanyol's defeat in Coruña to move back up into the Champions' League
spots, just a point behind third placed Valencia, after a 0-2 win at Albacete.
Alvaro had the first chance for the locals, but by the break they were two
goals down, Renato collecting a throw in and running on to fire a long shot
past Gaspercic, and then slipping a short pass to Antoñito for him to
run on and get the second.
Nico Olivera was making his
first start after Pacheco failed a late fitness test, but José
González replaced him and the injured Mark Gonzalez with Mikel and Momo
at the break, and brought on David Sánchez a few minutes later. Things
improved after that, Esteban forced into making a couple of good saves and then
tipping a shot from Redonodo onto the post. But they were left with ten men
after Rubén once again dislocated his shoulder with all three changes
already made, and after that their challenge died. |
