A topsy-turvy match at the
Riazor stadium, where the lead changed hands twice before Zaragoza ended up
beating hosts Deportivo La Coruña 2-3. Both sides had chances early on,
David Villa failing to find the target after Molina had pushed Savio's cross to
his feet, and Munitis having an effort blocked after Valerón set him up.
A mistake by Pablo Amo though let in Cani to open the scoring ten minutes
before the break, and Valerón missed out on a chance to equalise when he
shot over the bar from close range before the half time whistle.
Just five minutes after the
restart though the game swung in favour of the Galicians, Pablo Amo heading
home a Munitis cross and Luque putting his team ahead after Valerón set
him up. Milito headed an equaliser though only a few minutes later, and David
Villa restored the lead for Víctor Muñoz's side with a header
almost on the goal line after Cani chipped the ball over Molina, referee
Ramírez Domínguez waving away appeals for offside. Depor's
chances of a fight-back ended when Scaloni was sent off at the end for a hard
tackle on an opponent, and they ended the weekend behind their opponents on
goal difference after a third home defeat in the league this season.
