Osasuna and Zaragoza missed
out on an opportunity to close back up on the leaders, the two sides cancelling
each other out in a 2-2 draw. Morales put the locals in front in only the
fourth minute, running on to Valdo's pass to score a club record fifth goal in
as many games. Valdo could have made it two soon afterwards, but Oscar
González took advantage of a defensive mistake by Cruchaga to level the
scores just a few minutes later.
The home side were on top
for the rest of the first half, Morales and Webó both having efforts
saved by Luis García, and a high cross from Corrales bouncing off the
crossbar. Elia saved from Movilla and David Villa either side of half time as
the visitors fought back, but Morales and Webó both put efforts wide
soon afterwards.
Zaragoza went in front
though against the run of play after Josetxo gifted the ball to Oscar for him
to score his second of the night. But Villa cleared a Valdo header off the line
with the keeper beaten, and minutes later Osasuna equalised after the referee
ruled that Soriano had handled deliberately following Moha's corner,
Puñal scoring at the second attempt after the kick had to be retaken.
Both keepers were in action near the end, García saving from Valdo and
Elia stopping an effort from Galletti. But in the end both sides had to settle
for a point which keeps them in mid-table. |
