Pulled down long cross from Dani and fired shot past keeper.
Espanyol moved up level with
second placed Madrid on points after beating Zaragoza 0-1. The Catalans had not
lost in the Romareda stadium in six years, and they started well, Ibarra
putting a long shot wide and Tamudo (returning to side after an injury) going
close on a couple of occasions. Javi Moreno headed over at the other end and
Kameni had to save from Galletti, but the visitors were on top and produced a
long passing move involving almost the entire team before Tamudo picked up the
final pass from Dani to put his side in front.
Kameni was in action after
that, tipping a Toledo header over the bar and catching a dangerous Savio free
kick before the interval. But Lotina's side closed things down in the second
half, and the only real danger came five minutes from the end when Galletti
shot wide from right of goal. Tamudo went off to hand his place to
Martín Posse, who should have wrapped things up a couple of minutes
later when he shot wide with only the keeper to beat. But Espanyol had recorded
their fourth away win this season, and continue to ride high in the table.
