Goals:
0-1. 31. Kluivert. Header up past keeper from long Luis García cross.

Only one goal separated the two teams in the match between Sevilla and Barcelona, where Kluivert's strike gave the Catalans a 0-1 victory and three points which keeps them in seventh place. Either side could have scored early on, with Luis García shooting wide for the visitors and Baptista and Darío Silva both going close at the other end. Kluivert got on the end of Luis García's cross though on the half hour mark to steer a header past Esteban and put his side in front.

The Andalucians came out strongly after the break, with Reyes and Darío Silva trying their best to beat Víctor. Márquez was lucky that Mejuto González didn't see him step on Daniel Alves in an off-the-ball incident, but the referee did see enough later on to give Martí two yellow cards within three minutes. Even so Antoñito went close and Darío Silva saw a late effort come back off the post. But the visitors held on for a victory which takes the pressure off Rijkaard, who according to the local press could even have been fired if the team had put up another poor performance.
