Barcelona beat Zaragoza 3-0, their first victory in the Nou Camp since early November, to move back up to seventh spot in the league table. Rijkaard left Rüstü on the bench to be able to bring in his fourth non-EU player Saviola, and the young striker obliged by heading his side ahead from Iniesta's cross midway through the first half. Saviola could have scored again after Ronaldinho set him up soon afterwards, but David Villa and Cani both had chances to square the match later in the half.

With the first half in injury time though, Barça were awarded their first league penalty of the season after Cuartero tripped Luis García on the edge of the area, and Ronaldinho stepped up to make it two. And although Cocu cleared off the line from Villa early in the second half, Iniesta found Xavi with a cross which ballooned off a defender for him to score from close range. The Catalans had finally got a third home win, leaving Zaragoza down in the relegation zone. With Edgar Davids due to arrive tomorrow, Frank Rijkaard's side could finally be on the up, although first of all they have a date with Levante in the cup to attend to.
