Celta lost 3-2 to an Osasuna side who are going from strength to strength, and who consolidated their fourth position in the league with this result. The visitors were hoping to stop a slide down the table that has seen them approach the relegation spots, and Jandro missed an early chance to put his side ahead when Angel set him up. The Pamplona based team soon took control though, with Izquierdo firing a shot against the post, and it was the right back again who crossed in for Aloisi to head home his first goal of the season around the half hour mark.

The Galicians got back all square though before the break, José Ignacio having the easiest of tasks after Sanzol misjudged Jandro's cross, allowing Berizzo to head the ball across to his colleague. But Osasuna restored the lead soon after the restart, Bakayoko picking out the unmarked Aloisi for him to score his second of the night. Valdo hit the post when it would have been easier to score soon afterwards, but Aloisi returned the favour to Bakayoko for him to get a third goal later in the half.

Catanha did at least restore a bit of pride at the end. heading over the advancing Sanzol for his first of the season, but it was too late to save the result. Celta ended the weekend just outside of the bottom three thanks to a better goal average over Real Sociedad, not the position they wanted to be in before Tuesday's vital Champions League tie at AC Milan. Nothing short of victory will do, and if they fail then Lotina could be in deep trouble.
