Celta failed to capitalize
on their win at Sevilla at the weekend, and they were held to a disappointing
2-2 draw by fellow strugglers Albacete. The Galicians were looking for only
their second home win of the season, and after Luccin and José Ignacio
failed to find a way through a sea of legs, Angel found space down the right
wing and crossed in for José Ignacio to beat Roa from the edge of the
area. Before half time though the visitors had levelled the scores, Ex Espanyol
striker Pacheco finding himself unmarked and firing a long shot wide of
Cavallero.
Contreras came within a
whisker of re-establishing the lead two minutes after the restart, Roa beating
his effort away from close range without really knowing too much about it. But
a couple of minutes later Aranda took advantage of a sleepy defence to run on
to a long ball and round Contreras and then Cavallero to score. Celta came
back, and Contreras made up for his failure to stop the last goal, beating Roa
with a header after the keeper could only push away Jesuli's free kick. But
despite the appearance of Mostovoi and Milosevic late on, Lotina's side could
do no more, and Albacete went away with their first away point of the season.
