Scored on the follow up after Sanzol saved from Anderson.
Osasuna lost 1-0 at
Villarreal, but still hold on to fourth spot, a point above Barcelona and
Atlético. The Pamplona based side started strongly, with Bakayoko
testing Reina with a header early on. But midway through the first half Sanzol
couldn't hold on to a long shot from Sonny Anderson, and Guayre potted the
rebound from a possible offside position. Riquelme almost got another when he
shot just wide, but Aloisi missed the easiest chance of the match at the other
end soon afterwards, shooting over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
The visitors were forced to
come forward after the break, leaving more space at the back which Benito
Floro's side tried to exploit on the counterattack. Yanguas came close to
chipping the ball into his own net under challenge from Anderson, whose claim
for a penalty by Sanzol in the same incident was turned down. And a few minutes
later Roger got the ball in the net in a similar play to the first goal, only
to see it ruled out by referee Moreno Delgado for a non-existent offside. But
the locals had to defend frantically for the last few minutes, and only the
hands of Reina kept the visitors from saving a point. |
