Málaga opened the
weekend's matches with a 2-1 win over Zaragoza. It was a dull game with little
chances for either team, but Juande Ramos's side took the lead when Litos
headed Duda's free kick past Lainez on the half hour mark. It appeared that the
first half would end that way, but on the stroke of half time Salva was held
back by Alvaro in one of those incidents which occur many times in a match.
However the now infamous linesman Rafa Guerrero called over referee Esquinas
Torres and insisted that it was a penalty, and Salva gleefully scored
Málaga's second from the spot.
Paco Flores threw on all his
fire power in the second half, and Villa and Corona should have got a goal back
when they broke through together. However Corona finished off with a weak shot
which Arnau had no trouble saving. In the end they did score once, Drulic
getting his first goal of the season after David Villa set him up. But it was
much too late, and Paco Flores's side drop back to within a point of the
relegation zone. |
