Recreativo Huelva ended the weekend six points adrift at the bottom of the table after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Andalucian neighbours Sevilla. There was much speculation that Lucas Alcaraz could be the next manager to be shown the door, and once again he made several changes to try and change their fortune. However a promising start quickly came to nothing, and Reyes almost gave the visitors the lead, first of all when fouled outside of the area on a dash to goal, and then when he fired a shot in from the left which bounced back from the far post across the face of the goal. With half an hour gone Recre's Gallego had to leave the field with an injury, but his replacement Quique Romero suffered even worse luck, being stretchered off unconscious after an accidental collision with keeper Notario. The midfielder was rushed off to hospital, but was later said to be recovering well without any serious damage.

There was no improvement after the break from the home side, and the visitors should have wrapped things up when Luque saved a Toedtli header from point blank range. a few minutes later Javi García cleared off the line from another header from Pablo Alfaro, and Luque was called upon to save from Casquero. Recre's only reply was an attack ten minutes from the end, but Xisco failed to control the ball and it came to nothing. In the end though both sides settled for the draw, which leaves Sevilla in the top half of the table. After the match the Huelva board ratified Alcaraz in his position, but it is an open secret that they are looking for a replacement, and if they don't win in the cup midweek against Sevilla's city neighbours Betis then a new man may be in charge by next weekend.
