Osasuna and Zaragoza ended
the weekend in the bottom half of the table on 28 points (level with
Málaga and Las Palmas) after drawing in a match without goals at the El
Sadar stadium in Pamplona. Miguel Angel Lotina made three changes to the side
which beat Barcelona last week, with Fernando suspended and Contreras returning
from his a one match ban, and Iván Rosado coming in to support Aloisi in
attack. Luis Costa only made one change to his side, Kolmjenovic making his
first start in place of the injured Rebosio. Neither side created many goal
chances in a game dominated by the two defences, with keepers Unzué
(making his 300th appearance in the first division) and Láinez putting
in their now usual good performances. The first attempt at goal did not come
until the half hour mark, Aragón putting a shot just wide, and
Láinez made two good saves from Yanguas and then Puñal just
before half time.
If anything the game got
worse after the break, with both teams losing their best playmakers Gancedo and
Acuña to injury. Milosevic did come close to scoring when he headed the
ball almost out of Unzué's hands, the ball running agonisingly past the
near post, and Aloisi shot straight at Láinez when presented with a
golden opportunity a few minutes later. The game was stopped by referee
Pérez Burrull for a few minutes when the home team's radical Indar Gorri
fans set fire to a Zaragoza flag and flares were thrown on the pitch, and there
were some minor incidents between rival groups, many Zaragoza supporters having
made the relatively short trip to Pamplona. They can be forgiven though for not
concentrating much on the match. It was more interesting watching the grass
grow on the pitch. |
