Acrobatic shot from wide angle after Notario saved from Sequeiros.
Las Palmas moved away from
the bottom spots for the time being with a 1-0 victory over Sevilla. The lowest
crowd of the season turned up at the Insular stadium to watch Fernando
Vázquez's side after their sixth straight away loss in a row had taken
them down to seventeenth place. Vázquez left out his latest young
striker Rubén and went for experience up front, with Orlando and Tevenet
returning to the side together with Paqui, who was back from a one match
suspension.
Sevilla manager
Joaquín Caparrós only made one change, brining in Víctor
for the suspended Podestá. His side were the better in the first half,
with Gallardo and Reyes putting aside the incident last week (see heroes and
villains section for details) to create a nightmare for the Las Palmas defence
(one wonders whether Reyes didn't score from Gallardo's passes for fear of what
might happen to him if he did). However Las Palmas came back in the second
half, and an acrobatic goal from substitute Josico was enough to give them the
much needed victory. Sevilla stay midtable, in a group of five teams separated
by one point. |
