Zaragoza rose up to eleventh
in the table, just three points away from the European spots, after a
belaboured win against Las Palmas in the Romareda stadium. Yordi headed them in
front in the twelfth minute from a long cross by Ezquerdinha and Juanele went
close to increasing their lead with a shot against the bar after good work by
an on-form Marcos Vales. The Canary Islanders started to get back in to the
match, but for once the youngsters were off target, and Juanmi was there to
make a couple of great saves when they did find their mark.
Txetxu Rojo brought on
Galletti in the second half and almost immediately he was in the action, his
cross pinballing off two defenders before falling at Juanele's feet for him to
score the second. A few minutes later Galletti did it again, putting in a
pinpoint cross which Yordi headed against the bar. Sarasua did get a
consolation goal for the visitors in the last minute, their first away goal in
over six games, but it was too late. It was their sixth loss in a row outside
of the Insular stadium, and means that they drop to within a place of the
relegation spots, just above Osasuna on goal average. |
