Sevilla came back twice against Mallorca to share the points in a 2-2 draw. Campano put the visitors ahead in the opening minutes with a free kick in off the post, Mallorca's first goal in almost 500 minutes of football. Sevilla lost Njegus to injury with the match only twenty minutes old, and with Alfaro suspended, Juanmi injured and Javi Navarro already playing as makeshift central defender, Caparrós was forced to bring on Luis Gil on the right flank. That added punch to their attack though, and Gallardo equalised with a solo effort down the right hand side, Denilson style "bicicleta" included, before the half hour mark.

Engonga put the visitors back in the lead a couple of minutes later from the penalty spot when Prieto brought down Novo, but Nico "not so much fall as plummet" Olivera won his third penalty in a row and his fourth of the season almost immediately from the restart when he fell at the feet of Miguel Soler. The Uruguayan striker converted the kick himself to move provisionally to the top of the league's Pichichi chart with five goals. The game quietened down after that, and although Moises hit the post in the second half there were no additions to the scoreline. The draw still leaves Bernd Krauss's side in the relegation zone, with Sevilla safely up in the top half of the table pending Sunday's games.
