A depleted Real Sociedad stayed firmly fixed to the bottom of the first division after losing in the last minute to Zaragoza. The visitors took the lead through Tayfun early on, picking up a centre from López Rekarte inside the penalty area and shooting through the legs of Láinez. However Marcos Vales, back in the starting line up for the first time in many months, levelled the scores a few minutes later with a brilliant solo effort.

Yordi put the Aragón side in front after the restart, shooting in to the roof of the net for his fourth of the season in all competitions. Real equalised though through Gabilondo and looked to be heading for a point, but once again they were reduced to ten men when Aramburu picked up a second yellow card. And then they threw it away in the last minute when Vellisca connected with Aragón's cross to volley a spectacular goal past Alberto. Real ended the day level with Rayo at the bottom of the table with one point from six games, their worst ever start to the season in the history of the club. Zaragoza for their part recorded their first win at home in five months, and move up to midtable.
