Patrick Kluivert saved the
day for Barcelona with two well taken goals in their 1-2 victory over newly
promoted Sevilla. Kluivert proved too quick for the Sevilla defence, who have
yet to adapt to the speed of top flight football, and he took advantage of
their hesitation to help his side to their first three points of the season.
Olivera levelled the scores temporarily from the penalty spot just after the
restart after Rochemback had held back David.
Barcelona manager Charly
Rexach left Saviola on the bench until the second half, preferring Overmars to
start the game, and he also brought in Luis Enrique as right wing back after
his good recent performances. However after Sevilla equalised he rectified,
putting on Puyol at the right back position and allowing Luis Enrique to come
further forward. Sevilla's boss Caparrós including 17 year old Reyes in
his starting line up, and the youngster showed some good touches before being
replaced in the end by new signing Toedtli.. |
