Salamanca held on to the top
spot, but only just after losing again, this time by 2-1 to Atlético B.
The leaders took the lead through Morales early in the second half, but Cubilla
and Luque scored for the Madrid B team, thereby ending their run of seven games
without a win. Salamanca have now only got one point from the last five
matches, and their lead has been cut to two points. Las Palmas moved back into
second place after beating Compostela 0-2, both goals for Kresic's team coming
from Eloy. They are a point ahead of Levante, who drew 0-0 at home to
Villarreal, and Extremadura, who fell 2-1 at Córdoba. The Andalucians,
who are now seventh, have gone eight games without defeat. Tenerife and Osasuna
took advantage of bad results elsewhere to move to within a point of the
promotion spots. Tenerife beat Elche by 1-0 with a penalty from Morales, and
Osasuna left Logroñes in a desperate position with a 2-0 victory, with
goals by Ziganda and Iván Rosado. Sporting lost their opportunity to
catch up on the leaders, only drawing 1-1 at home to Eibar, as did Leida, who
lost 1-0 at Leganés. Bottom club Toledo won again, this time by 2-0
against Badajoz, but their revival has probably come too late. They are now
three points behind Recreativo, who dropped back down after losing at home 2-4
to fellow strugglers Getafe, who played the last hour with ten men.
Mérida and Albacete moved a little closer to the drop zone after a dull
1-1 draw. |
