The status quo was maintained
in the second division, with all three top teams drawing. Salamanca drew 1-1 at
home to improving Getafe, with Romania's Munteanu levelling the scores in the
first half after Parrado's early goal. Levante also drew 1-1, away at
Córdoba, with goals from Sales for the visitors and Armada for the home
side. Extremadura could only manage a goal-less draw at home to neighbours
Mérida. Las Palmas took advantage to close in on the leaders with a 2-1
victory against Villarreal. All three goals came in the first half, with
Orlando and Pablo Lago scoring for the Canary Islanders, and Moisés
getting his thirteenth of the season for Villarreal, taking him within two of
the league's top scorer Salillas. Elsewhere, Osasuna moved up the table with a
1-0 victory against Sporting, and Compostela did likewise by beating Tenerife
2-1. The four bottom teams played each other, with Atlético B dedicating
their 2-1 victory over Toledo to their ex president Jesus Gil, and
Leganés pushed Recreativo further into the mud with two goals from
Pachón in their 2-0 win. See our second division results and league
