Zaragoza 3 - Numancia 3
Zaragoza: Juanmi;
Cuartero, Pablo, Aguado, Solana; Garitano, Acuña, Aragón,
Vellisca; Juanele, Milosevic. 4-4-2. Numancia: Nuñez;
Belsué, Muñiz, Iván Rocha, Octavio; Pacheta, Nagore,
Castaño; Barbu; Rubén Navarro, Ojeda. 4-3-1-2.
Thousands of Numancia fans
made the short trip to Zaragoza, and they were rewarded by an excellent
performance by their team. Three times they took the lead, and three times
Zaragoza bounced back to share the points in one of the most exciting games of
the day. Numancia played with an unchanged side, and Zaragoza brought in
veteran fullback Solana for the injured Paco. Rubén Navarro scored the
first for the visitors after dribbling past three players and shooting past
Juanmi. Rojo brought on Yordi for Garitano on shortly afterwards to strengthen
the attack, and the striker levelled the scores before half time, chesting down
the ball before unleashing a great shot. Barbu re-established the lead with his
first league goal for the club after the break, but Yordi once again equalised,
heading in a cross from Aragón. Three minutes later Rubén got his
second, again a good opportunist goal, but Vellisca made it all square ten
minutes from time, his shot passing under an unsighted Nuñez. Zaragoza
stay third, and Numancia keep tenth spot.
Rayo Vallecano 4 -
Málaga 1
Rayo: Keller;
Estíbariz, Cota, Hernández, Alcázar; Helder, Michel I;
Ferrón, Llorens; Cembranos; Bolo. 4-2-3-1. Málaga:
Contreras; Rojas, Fernando Sanz, Bravo, Valcarce; Rufete, De los Santos,
Movilla, Agostinho; Catanha, Edgar. 4-4-2.
With the return of
Hernández to the Rayo Vallecano defence, the winning ways returned to
Vallecas. Maybe it was the return to the midday kickoff, but whatever it was it
worked, with Rayo running out 4-1 winners against a team that beat them twice
in the second division last season. Juande Ramos kept Helder in the side after
his spectacular goal last week, and drew up a new 4-2-3-1 formation. Catanha
returned to the Málaga squad after a two match suspension. Bolo scored
the first from Ferrón's cross, but Catanha equalised from close range
after a cross from the left deflected off a defender. Catanha's celebrations
were short lived however, and the Brazilian striker had to go off with an eye
injury which will keep him out for the next two weeks. In the 37th minute
Hernández rose to meet Estibariz's cross, placing his header wide of
Contreras, and Rayo were back in the lead. They added two more headed goals
late in the second half, the first from Llorens from a corner from the left and
the second from Canabal from a corner from the right, to move back to fourth
place in the league, and more importantly recover their lost confidence. They
do however have to sort out one administrative problem, as the Spanish
federation and FIFA are threatening to have them relegated to the second
division B if they do not pay an amount supposedly outstanding for the transfer
of Klimowicz. At the moment they cannot register any transfer of players until
this is resolved. Málaga for their part wish this was their only
problem, as they slide back once again to murky waters. |
