Day Eight
Salamanca took advantage of
slip ups by the top two teams Extremadura and Las Palmas to move into
second place, one point behind the leaders. Three managers lost their
jobs last week: Tenerife replaced Sandreani with Fernando Castro
Santos, their seventh manager in two years, Villarreal sacked Joaquín
Caparrós and brought back Paquito, and Leganés signed on
Enrique Martín. Full results were as follows: Villarreal 3-0

Day Nine
Despite only recording one
point out of the last six, Extremadura stay top of the second division
on 20 points. Las Palmas beat Compostela 2-1 to move into second
place, one point behind the leaders. Salamanca lost surprisingly to
Atlético B and drop to third on 18 points. The top 3 have
opened up a gap of three points over fourth equal placed Levante and
Badajoz. Albacete are sixth on 14 points, followed by Osasuna,
Villarreal, Sporting and Mérida on 13, Recreativo, Córdoba
and Tenerife on 12 and Compostela, Eibar, Logroñes and Lleida
on 11. The bottom five are three points adrift, with Elche and Atlético
B on 8 points, Getafe on 6, Toledo on 5 and Leganés on 4.
Levante's Salillas is the division's top scorer, with 9 goals to date.
