Sevilla and Espanyol are already sure of their places in the knock-out stage after both clocked up big wins on Thursday. Sevilla beat Luxembourg’s Dudelange 2-5, with Dabbur and Munir bagging two each in the first half, and Munir completing a hat-trick before Sinani got two late consolations for the locals. And later in evening Espanyol won 6-0 against Ludogorets, who played more than half of the game with nine men after Forster and then Goralski were sent off. Melendo and Lluis López put the Catalans two up early on, and Vargas converted a penalty after Goralski’s red card for handling in the area just before the break. And after the restart Campuzano, Pedrosa and Ferreyra added three more for the final result. Getafe though had a bit of a set-back after they lost 2-1 at Basel. A Mata penalty after Hugo Duro was fouled in the area cancelled out Cabral’s opener, but Frei beat Chicharito on the hour mark to make it two wins in a row for the Swiss side against their rivals. It could have been different though had Angel not had a late strike ruled out for a non-existent offside, there being no VAR at this stage of the competition. (07.11.19)
