Spain completed the formalities with a 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands, and with six wins out of six they are well clear at the top of their qualifying group. Valencia’s Rodrigo scored twice early on in the first and second halves, but the ultra-defensive visitors kept them out after that until substitute Paco Alcácer added two more in the dying minutes. Spain clocked up their fifth win out of five after beating Romania 1-2 in their latest Euro qualifier, their first ever away win against the East Europeans. Local keeper Tatarusanu made a string of saves, but Sergio Ramos converted a penalty after Ceballos was brought down in the area on the half hour mark, and Alcácer made it two after Ceballos and Jordi Alba combined to set him up soon after the break. Ex Deportivo striker Andone got one back though, and after Diego Llorente was sent off for a foul on Tosca, Kepa had to make a couple of late saves to ensure the result. (05.09.19)
