However Manu got one back after the restart, and the visitors were left with ten men when Sergi Gómez picked up a second booking after giving away a penalty on Manu. Guray Vural fired the spot-kick against the post, but Onur Ayik leveled it a few minutes later, and it was only with three minutes to go that Banega converted a second penalty after Miguel Lopes brought down Fernando Vázquez in the area. Elsewhere Betis and Villarreal also head up their respective groups despite draws for both. Betis drew 1-1 against AC Milan, Lo Celso opening the scoring early on, but Suso saving a point for the Italian side with a long free kick on the hour mark.
