Match round-up - Second Division A, Day 13

Huesca are up to second in the table, level on points with Granada and Lugo, after a 3-1 victory over neighbours Zaragoza on Monday evening! Melero headed the locals in front on the quarter hour mark, and Cucho Hernández added a second after the restart. Zapater got one back for the visitors with seven minutes to go, but Cucho wrapped things up two minutes later to leave the Maños just three points above the drop zone. (06.11.17)

Yet another new leader in the second division this week, Granada now in top spot after a 0-0 draw at Osasuna on Sunday. They move ahead of Lugo on goal difference after the Galicians were beaten 3-2 by Oviedo in the mid-day kick-off, Aarón Ñíguez firing home the winner for the locals with twenty minutes to go. Cristian Herrera had put the visitors in front early on, but after the restart a Saúl Berjón penalty and a strike by Linares turned the scoreline around before Azeez levelled it again on the hour mark. Only one point separates the top five though, although Valladolid dropped further away from the leaders after they lost 0-3 to Nàstic. Maikel Mesa headed the opener for the Catalans in the eighth minute, and after the restart Jean Luc and Mesa added two more to take their side out of the relegation spots. Almería now find themselves in the bottom four though after they lost 0-2 to regional neighbours Cádiz, Salvi getting the goals either side of half time to give the visitors their first win in nine games. And elsewhere Cultural Leonesa and Barcelona B drew 1-1 to stay level with each other in mid-table, Choco Lozano putting the visitors in front early on, and Rodri getting the equaliser after the interval. Sporting Gijón stay in third spot after they were beaten 1-0 at Reus on Saturday evening. Gus Ledes got the only goal with a direct free kick midway through the second half to take the Catalans to within two points of the play-off spots. Rayo Vallecano are now sixth after they drew 1-1 with Albacete, Raúl de Tomás heading a late equaliser after Héctor had given the visitors the lead a few minutes earlier. The result takes the Manchegans out of the bottom four, at least overnight. No team scored more than one goal though in the first five matches of the weekend, Tenerife still three points below the play-off spots after a 1-1 draw at bottom club Sevilla Atlético, Longo’s opener cancelled out by a strike from Pozo later on. And Lorca moved to within a point of escaping the drop zone after they won 1-0 against fellow strugglers Córdoba, substitute Onwu throwing his side a lifeline with the game already in time added on. Numancia moved to within a point of leaders Lugo pending the rest of the weekend’s games after a 1-0 win over Alcorcón on Friday evening. Manu del Moral got the only goal on the hour mark to give the Soria based side their first win in five games. (03.11.17)
