Real Madrid are into their third Champions League final in succession after knocking out Bayern Munich in the semi-finals! Zidane’s side were defending a 1-2 win from the first leg, but with only three minutes on the clock Kimmich put the visitors in front. Benzema headed in Marcelo’s cross though to level the scores in the tenth minute, and the French striker added a second after keeper Ulreich allowed a soft Tolisso back pass through his hands just seconds after the restart. Before that though Keylor Navas had to save from Müller and Lewandowski, and Marcelo was lucky to be let off a penalty appeal when he blocked Kimmich’s cross with his arm. Some twenty minutes into the second half James (actually on-loan from Madrid) made it all square again, and another away goal would have taken Bayern through. However Navas made a string of saves later on to frustrate the continuous German attack, and Madrid will be in Kiev at the end of this month to try and set a new record of three Champions League titles in a row.
