Barcelona were the only one of the four Spanish sides to win on day three, the Catalans beating Olympiacos 3-1 in a rainy Nou Camp to stay top of their group with maximum points. Nikolaou turned a Deulofeu cross in to his own net to give Valverde’s side an early lead, and Paulinho headed against the crossbar a few minutes later. Piqué was sent off shortly before the break after picking up a second booking for turning the ball in to the net with his arm, but even so Messi made it two with a direct free kick (his 100 th goal in Europe), and Digne added a third soon afterwards before Nikolaou headed a late consolation for the visitors..
